Boy, there were a few things going on this weekend that I usually covered. One was the Upland Hills Health Spring Fling that is held at Dodger Bowl for Upland Hills cardiac people and of course anyone. Dan Roble's German Band played the music for that event - minus Dan Roble, who is still recuperating at Ingleside in Mount Horeb. The band sounded pretty good and Dan's son, Matt, was there to fill in for him. (See photo above with some of the tables of people attending with the German Band playing in the background.)

It was Dodgeville's own Dennis Kopps' birthday Sunday, so our Saturday morning breakfast guys took him to Spring Garden in Mount Horeb on Saturday for breakfast. We always have a good meal there and Dennis ate more than I could imagine! I'm on that "yuck" diet so I had some basics, but it was good!
*****
We went to see Dan Roble after we ate and he's coming along slowly, but still has a long ways to go.

I'm happy to see that Gene Dougherty is taking over the Ridgeway Lumber Company. That's a business that serves the area well.

I stopped to talk with a couple of the Crubaughs last Friday. Terry (Olson) and Julie (Brian's wife) were outside of the Time & Again Antiques Vintage Shop. They caught me up on Brian's 3-4 hours he works each day since having two knee surgeries and a hip replacement, plus some other complications. Brian has a good crew at his back at the bakery and it hasn't missed a beat!

Can you believe it - I must be mellowing since my trip to the hospital - I said something nice about the "Not So" Quality Bakery!

There's a "sold" sign on the former karate building in Dodgeville at the corner of Spring and Main Streets. It's supposed to become a laundromat, but we haven't totally confirmed the type yet!
*****
There's also an underground cable company coming here to locate, but the work they are doing isn't right here, it's to the north and south, so they wanted a spot in the middle!
*****
Rumor has it the former New Concord Inn is going to become an apartment complex, possible for lower income housing or it may be still a motel - I've heard both. It was sold awhile ago by House on the Rock Properties. That's located on US 23 north across from the Don Q Inn.
*****
That's all that I can come up with for the moment. Hopefully I will have more information next week!
