Ok - I'm embarrased! I didn't proofread OR spell check my column. Mark James, a classmate of brother Pat, stopped in and said that I misspelled a couple of words and blew their classmate Mary (Boldt) Tygum's home farm location. The Boldt farm was just south of Dodgeville, not north like I said. I must've had a SENIOR moment at that time because I was picturing their farm when I was writing about it. But I didn't have a couple of words misspelled. In checking back, I had 10 that I blew! Hopefully I don't do the same thing this week!

A couple of fire department fundraisers are this Sunday. The Highland Fire Department holds a Valentine's Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Highland High School cafeteria. Also, the Rewey Fire Department will hold a Pizza Day fundraiser from 11:a.m.-3:00 p.m. at their fire station - it's homemade too.

Before this week's rain/snow and warmer weather came (or was to come), I shoveled the snow that was left on the curbside at the Chronicle office so it wouldn't melt running down the sidewalk! Hopefully that's the last snow I will shovel this year -ha, ha! My prediction is that we will still get four more snowfalls to make the 35 predicted. I just hope they aren't a lot at one time or that one of them doesn't come in April!

Saturday morning breakfast too Bob, Terry, me and Tom DeMuth (driver) on our longest trip for that meal - to Bloomington and Ma's Bakery. I have said before that we started going there since Bob has a shirttail relative there. Terry, our waitress, is a hoot. I love giving her a hard time, but even more she loves giving it back! She calls me "Little Fellow"! The food is very good. They do a lot of catering besides the running the restaurant. Their baked goods are very good too and not very expensive! Omelettes, hash browns, eggs bacon, sausage and French Toast were the selections. They don't have a menu. You just order what you want and they make it!

It took us a few extra minutes to get to Bloomington. Our navigator (I won't say who he was) had us turn one road too soon so we went in on a gravel road and had to turn one more time to the west to get to town!

Today (February 9) is Toothache Day. I won't go into detail about that one. Tomorrow, however, I will talk a little about. It's "All the News That's Fit To Print Day". Now, that's every Thursday for us! We try to bring you as much good news as we can. Of course, there is some "not so good news" that must be reported too!

Tuesday is Valentine's Day. I hope you remember your valentine and get them something special!
