Our trip for Saturday morning breakfast took us to Grandma Mary's in Arena where we met friend Dewey Christoph, who traveled from Mount Horeb. They serve breakfast all day on Saturdays. The staff, including kitchen workers, was fully masked the entire time we were there - about an hour and a half. We got a chance to catch up with Dewey and things happening in his life. We also got to talk about some important things like the Brewers, Packers and Badgers! There were (as always) a few jokes told. I can never remember any, so you are all out of luck!

After we got back to Dodgeville we made a trip around town to check out some new housing construction and some additions that have gone onto some houses.

The Dodgeville Area Scholarship Foundation (DASFI) is meeting soon to go over graduating senior scholarship applications and the amount we will be giving this year.

The Dodgeville Area Chamber of Commerce has been having committee meetings discussing Trade & Marketing plans for this year and next to promote tourism in the area. Also the DodgeFest committee is planning for this year's show on Saturday, August 28. Before that is the chamber golf outing at Dodge Point Country Club on July 22. There are also plans for the Pop Up Square during July and a softball tournament for either early August or September.

The Annual Farmers Appreciation Day will be held Sunday, July 11. There are still some plans to be finalized on that, so more will be coming.

I understand that his year's Iowa County Dairy Breakfast will be held as a drive-thru event at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point on Saturday, June 5 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The Dodgeville Lions Club has had good vendor response to their first Flea Market & Antique Show of the summer. That's set for Sunday, June 13 at Harris Park. They will have a concession stand there with their famous Lioness Club pies!

I spent part of Saturday and Sunday (it was raining) straightening up the concession stand and press box at Centennial Park preparing for the upcoming baseball season(s). I think the first home high school baseball games are Saturday, May 1 with an 8:30 a.m. start time. They will be playing at both Centennial Park and the High School Field (Middle School). Golf kicks of the season first for Dodgeville on Friday, April 23, then softball and baseball on Tuesday, April 27 followed by track on Monday, May 3 and girls soccer on Tuesday, May 4. The seasons are short and will be jam packed with games almost every day!
