I guess you could say that March went out like a LION. We didn't have snow, but temperatures fell below freezing on the final day of March and it didn't even reach 40 degrees! We are looking towards a real warm up the early part of April with some moisture this week and morels the middle point of the month.

Bob, Terry and I made the trip a few miles south east of Dodgeville to Stroz Inn in Hollandale. It's always good to see Jen, who brought our drinks to the table as we were sitting down. I guess we're pretty predictable! We did change our usual omelette order up and went with pancakes, french toast and eggs, etc. We wanted to give Kevin more work in the kitchen. After awhile Amber, one of Kevin's daughters, came to wait on us. I had to ask who she was as we have to get a history on waitstaff we hadn't seen before. I remember her as a little tyke (she's now 27) when I went to their farm to take photos of tornado damage quite a few years ago. She remembered that too. The farm was quite the site.

Talking about that tornado got us all talking about times like the big snowstorm back in the late 1950s when people had to dump milk because roads couldn't get plowed for milk haulers to get to the farms. We were lucky at our farm and didn't have to dump any, but Bob did over between Highland and Muscoda. Bob talked of another time when hail hit the Highland area (also in the 1950s) that were bigger than baseballs. He even took photos of some of the hail alongside a baseball. I don't remember that. Maybe it didn't get as far south as Dodgeville!

The governor's Mask Mandate was overturned by the Wisconsin Supreme Cours and Dane County has opened up outside gatherings to unlimited numbers, without masks, as long as 6' distances are maintained. I'm sorry, but I don't think all that should take place yet. Give us a couple months more before the relaxing begins! June 1 may be a good target date!

Iowa County doesn't have a mask mandate, but still asks people to wear them to protect from COVID. Lately, with masks not being worn by many, there has been a spike in COVID cases reported.

The family had a nice Easter celebration at niece Amy's home, outside of Cobb, last Sunday. We also got to celebrate brother (and her father) Pat's birthday. He passed the 3/4 century mark!
