Since 400 Springs was only going to be open for two more Saturdays (last weekend January 2/3, 2021) for a couple of months, that's where we (Terry, Bob and I) went last Saturday morning. Weather permitting, we will probably go again this coming Saturday. We were the only ones there until another group from Dodgeville came in! They said they read (in my column) about them only being open for two more Saturdays so they wanted to give it a try. The three of us went away very filled up and the other group was well on their way to being stuffed too! They even wanted to see an evening menu for down the road.

The three of us searched the streets of Dodgeville for a home that Terry spotted on Facebook Market Place that was FREE - just needed to be removed from its site. We didn't have any luck, but saw some pretty nice homes while touring the streets!

I had two very good Christmas meals over the holidays. First, nephew Ryan cooked prime rib on Christmas Eve. That filled me up pretty good. Then his and niece Shelly's kids (along with the grownups) opened some presents. There was an Air Hockey game that needed to be assembled. I had to bow out before that was finished being set up, but I heard everyone who played it later on had a lot of fun! Then, on Christmas Day, brother Pat cooked roast beef and ham plus a lot of fixins. Four of us ate it while watching the end of the UW Badgers men's basketball win over Michigan State.

Also on Christmas Day, I made it to Mass at 9:00 a.m. and got a chance to see several families I hadn't seen in awhile - one being Rachel Wahlin, who has written things for us before. She is in Milwaukee.

About the time I was getting set to head to Pat's place for our Christmas meal he texted me to bring a couple of things out. I was on my way when he texted me for something else. It's a good thing Kwik Trip was open so I could get those things. Both the north and south Kwik Trips were busy when I was there. Both pretty much had their gasoline pump areas filled and parking was at a premium. I don't relish having business open on Christmas Day, but those that are come in handy!

I received several Christmas cards, a lot of text messages and family photos for Christmas. Thank you to all! Son Michael was at home with his dogs and a new puppy he couldn't leave, so he gutted Christmas out by himself as wife (Jolisa) was in Texas with her brother, mom and dad.

We were supposed to get snow from Tuesday through New Year's Day. I'm not sure of the expected totals, but it could get to several inches! Then it is supposed to be right around the freezing mark for the next week or so with no moisture in the forecast. That doesn't make for very bad weather for construction still going on, so the heating bills should be OK and the snow cover should help things for the farmers too!

It's a New Year (tomorrow)! I want to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year with the hope that 2021 will bring a lot better things than 2020 did! The COVID-19 pandemic vaccine is in the area and should be out to people real soon. I know people who have already had it administered, so that's a real plus!

I EVEN want to say "Happy New Year" to my favorite bakery - the "Not So" Quality Bakery!
