Our Saturday morning breakfast continued even with the spikes in the COVID-19 Pandemic. Terry, Bob and I met Dewey (Christoph) at 400 Springs at the House on the Rock Golf Course. Tables are very social distanced and the staff is masked, so we feel very comfortable there. As soon as we get up to leave someone is there disinfecting the area we occupied. We all left (except Terry) with a "Break of Dawn" coffee mug (Terry doesn't drink coffee). Break of Dawn is where we first ate breakfast prepared by the chef that's now at 400 Springs. All they served at Break of Dawn, due to an agreement with the building owner, was breakfast. It was located at the Round Barn in Spring Green. They relocated so they could serve dinner too.

This breakfast venture that was about 35 miles round trip actually went closer to 70 miles again as Bob took us on a scenic way back to the east before we reached Highway YZ off of County Z. Then we toured parts of Dodgeville again checking out the new constructions that are being done. When we ride with Bob it's never a straight line to get back home!

Congratulations to two Dodgeville-Mineral Point co-op teams that recently won SWC Conference Championships - soccer and boys cross country! The soccer team did it on Thursday while the cross country meet was on Friday. Both teams entered sectional action Tuesday night.

This past weekend was when Bob Kratochwill and myself would go on the Fall Art Tour that could take you from Mineral Point to Baraboo through Dodgeville, Highland and Spring Green. The in-person tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, but you could take a virtual tour and buy online. One of our favorite artists and places to go is to Sue and Jeff Jachimiec's studio on Mount Hope Road, Dodgeville. There are plenty of other ones we enjoy too, but maybe favor hers a little! One year Bob couldn't go and when I showed up at her place she said, "Where's Bob!" We're hoping that next fall we will be able to make the actual tour! You can see Sue in action last year at her studio in the above photo. She's pointing out her husband who is also an artist.

The Dodgeville Lions Club has begun its Birthday/Anniversary Calendar Sale. Since the pandemic forced cancellation of three major fundraisers for the group - Fun Night and two Antique/Flea Markets - this may be the club's only fundraiser for the year. The Lions Club gives a lot of money to local and area needs, including the Food Pantry, Food Locker and Feeding Friends. They have built a lot of shelters at parks and provided funds for dugouts at ball fields plus they give out several scholarships to graduating seniors. They also help Boy Scouts with Eagle Projects and donate much more to other needs. If you haven't been contacted by a Dodgeville Lion to buy a calendar, please do so. There is information on their website.
