There's another Ag Box Giveaway tomorrow night (Friday) at the Iowa-Grant Schools. That's where people can get 2 gallons of white milk, 2 pints each of chocolate and strawberry milk along with containers of cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and french onion dip courtesy of Prairie Farms and several Iowa-Grant area businesses and farmers. It is open to anyone and it's FREE.

We were supposed to have the start of Fall Ball (baseball) Sunday at Centennial Park and the high school field, but the about 5 inches of rain that fell the three or four days through Saturday evening forced it to be postponed a week. The fields were jut too wet and it was raining still at 6:00 p.m. The temperatures were supposed to warm up, but not until around 10 a.m. Sunday though so the fields just wouldn't be ready for the scheduled 9:00 a.m. games. Play could've started in the afternoon, but with so many games scheduled it would've caused a huge rescheduling problem down the road for the five weeks of play, so starting next Sunday was the way to go. Temperatures are supposed to be in the 60's to 70's this week and around 60 yet when it concludes in October, with no rain in the forecast! There will be concession stands at both fields with drinks and everything packaged (even the sandwiches).

In not knowing whether games would be played Sunday, I made several stops at Piggly Wiggly and Walmart Saturday to pick up needed supplies since we would have two stands going. On one of my stops I ran into Jen Fry, one of my "like a daughters" when she was growing up. Her son just got his drivers license - boy how time flies! Due to the COVID-19 thing and backlog of drivers tests all he had to do to get his license was fill out an online form and it arrived in the mail. Maybe now our young drivers will be like the IOWA DRIVERS as when my son (Michael) got his license he didn't have to take a driving test because his birthday number wasn't drawn for that month's testing! See, that explains the IOWA driving - 28 out of 29 or 29 out of 30 or 30 out of 31 dates each month don't have to take a driving test!

My cousin Jeanette and husband Jack were supposed to come to Wisconsin this next week for his niece's wedding. But due to the spiking of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin, and especially Madison where they were going to stay most of the time, they opted out of coming. I was really looking forward to seeing them, but that's the way this year has gone! Maybe Christmas or next June!

Speaking of cousins, I see via FACEBOOK that my 2nd cousin Aaron (and wife Colleen) have their first win label on a wine they produced at Wild Hills Winery near Richland Center - with actually a Muscoda address. They have been using up the former owner's labels - Weggy Winery - but now are able to use their new one (see above photo)! One of these days I will try to get there to see it for myself. They give tours too!

Saturday breakfast took Bob, Terry and I to Stroz Inn at Hollandale, a place we frequent. This time former Dodgeville Mayor Jim McCaulley (who lives just northwest of Hollandale on his family farm) met us there. Then we were joined by Dave Whitford and former Sheriff Bill Whitford. There was a lot of reminiscing and story telling going on!
