We constantly have newspaper delivery problems out of state by the post office, but this one really takes the cake. Jan Aschliman's mother reported that they received three Chronicles one day recently when she was visiting her. That's not unusual for most people in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Florida and other places, but ..... one of them was dated February, 2017 (see above photo by Jan). Now I've heard of "snail mail" and even the Pony Express back in existence, but taking over three years to get to Florida. I could probably even walk the paper there that fast (maybe with a little hitchhiking and a stop to see cousin Jeanette and husband Jack in Atlanta)!

Bob, Terry and I had our first breakfast together on Saturday morning since the middle of March this past Saturday. We decided not to venture very far, so we met at Cafe by Country Kitchen in Dodgeville at 8:00 a.m. We didn't leave there until nearly 10:00! See, I always say that our breakfasts aren't about the food (even though it was very good), it's about the comradery. After a three month layoff, we had a lot of catching up to do! We're planning to keep it going on Saturdays as long as the COVID-19 doesn't spike upward due to the opening up of businesses.

Both the Mineral Point and Dodgeville Saturday morning "Farmers Markets" are open for business in the mornings. I also see where Spring Green is doing a "Pop-up Farmers Market" with pre-ordering in effect!

I was in touch with son Michael last Saturday via the phone. He plans to come this way the second week of June and has a birthday just down the road from then (22nd). His HyVee store has been open the entire pandemic time, but his bartending job at a brewery just started back up recently. The Iowa governor plans to open everything back up soon (if it already isn't). He's a little iffy on that, but will roll with the punches! I told him to congratulate "the hero" for me - that's his wife (Jolisa) who save a woman's life during her cop job! I look forward to seeing them hopefully in a couple of weeks!

I still haven't ventured to any restaurant for a sit-down meal at lunch or dinner yet. Carryouts or eating at home will probably be my thing for awhile.

This Sunday would've been my chance to photograph and watch my first great-niece (or nephew) cross the stage for graduation. Great-niece Danielle Roh (Shelly's daughter and brother Pat's granddaughter) graduates Sunday, but it will be on u-tube instead of live in the Dodgeville gymnasium.

Mineral Point's senior class held a driving parade through the downtown and many streets last week as they wanted people to see them in convertibles and trucks in their caps and gowns. Good job!

It is good to see cars parked on both sides of the street in downtown Dodgeville with not that many empty parking spaces either!
