This primary election is important

Dear Editor,
The primary for the upcoming vacancy on the Wisconsin Supreme Court is February 21, 2023. This is an important election, as the Wisconsin Supreme Court may have the final say on critical issues that affect our lives, like education funding, worker protections, abortion, gerrymandering, access to health care, etc. There are 4 candidates on the ballot, two liberal, two conservative: Janet Protasiewicz, Everett Mitchell, Daniel Kelly, Jennifer Dorow. The two candidates who get the most votes in the primary will be on the April 4 ballot. If you want to have a voice in selecting those two candidates, if you want your candidate to be on that ballot, it's essential to vote in the primary.
I'm voting on February 21, for myself, my family, my community. I learned a long time ago, as an observer at a coin toss that determined the winner of an election, that every vote matters.
Information about the candidates is available in various newspapers, including this one, at the Wisconsin League of Women Voters website, at Vote411.org and other news and information sources. You can check your registration, request an absentee ballot or see what's on your ballot at MyVote.wi.gov.
Please check out these candidates and then make it a point to vote on Tuesday, February 21.
