A grave concern

Dear Editor,
As parents we love our children. We try to give them the best that we can afford. We try to keep them safe from harm. And we try to make sure they have the best educational opportunities available. Why then would we ignore a potential negative impact on their health and educational opportunities? Recently a map of potential wind turbine sites, developed based on county records of easements on land in Lafayette and Iowa Counties, shows that turbines could be sited within a one mile radius of both Mineral Point and Iowa Grant high schools. There is evidence that the negative health impacts of turbine's infrasound includes "brain fog" and impaired memory. Although more research on the effects of infrasound on humans remains to be done, should we not, as concerned citizens and parents, oppose this assault on our children?
