A question of time
J. Patrick Reilly

Twice a year one of the most talked about subjects is the time change. Can't count how many people do not like it because for a time it gets the body all out of adjustment as well as the mind.
In short, most people say they would prefer to just do without it and stay away from the grumpiness that usually goes with it.
I am of the opinion that it would be good to stay with the same time all year. I am not opposed to change when change is done for a good reason but flipping the clocks back and forth twice a year does not qualify for a good reason in my estimation.
While it is nice to suddenly have the extra daylight after a long winter, it all evens out eventually.
It is a little disturbing that some states want to set their own time zones when it comes to daylight saving time or a regional standard time. That is where a problem could come in. If we want our country to be united, then we need to be united on this issue. There is a bill being proposed to make daylight savings time permanent.
That makes sense to me.
With no one really realizing a benefit from the time changes, why not just leave it alone every day of the year.
