Two celebrations, one week
The week of October 7-13 is the week on which two celebrations occur: 4-H Week, and National Newspaper Week.
Each of these celebrations are special for reasons of their own. 4-H Week reflects on the many involvements our nation's youth partake in; Iowa County Wisconsin is no exception to this. I can recall the many benefits I've retained through my youth in 4-H: the power of a positive attitude, effective communication, and knowing what it takes to be a leader.
National Newspaper Week is also special to me, because it marks a milestone. I have been in the newspaper industry for a year. Although new to it, I have learned much about it. This week, I will be going to a discussion panel speaking to high school students with an interest in journalism. I hope that this discussion further ignites a bright light in these students.
