Remembering Kobe
By now, the globe has been made aware of the unexpected and tragic death of legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant.
I usually receive news alerts on my phone when national news hits. When I saw the information, I almost had to take a second look not believing it.
I don't believe that I was the only one.
While we know that Kobe became the oldest player to score 60 or more points in a game at 37 years and 234 days old, he was known to have a strong work ethic and high pain tolerance. He score points both on and off the court by the records he broke and the many philanthropic projects he oversaw.
While his time in the spotlight wasn't always the greatest, the things he did to support our nations youth and our veterans really helped him pay his dues.
His untimely death is a grim reminder of how we look to be remembered.
Our greatest sympathies are extended to his family, friends and the other lives lost in the tragic accident.
