Methamphetamine lab discovered at
Mineral Point High Street residence
Last Thursday, a press release from the Iowa County Sheriff's Department relayed information about a drug warrant that was conducted.
According to the press release, officials from the Richland-Iowa-Grant County task force, the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and the Mineral Point Police Department conducted a search warrant at a residence on High Street in Mineral Point.
The search began on Thursday April 11 at 10 a.m., and then found evidence of "methamphetamine paraphernalia and methamphetamine manufacturing."
As a result of the warrant and evidence discovery, Jeremiah E. Rector and Crystal L. Browning were arrested on tentative charges of intentionally disposing of methamphetamine waste, possession of meth paraphernalia, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine precursors.
The Mineral Point Fire Department and Mineral Point Emergency Medical Service were on the scene, in case of a fire or medical emergency. The Iowa-Vernon Hazardous Materials Response team was also on scene.
The press release stated that the investigation is ongoing and if anyone has information regarding the manufacturing or distribution of illicit substances, to contact the local crime stoppers.
