By Levi Zimmerman The Dodgeville City Council held a regular meeting Tuesday night at City Hall. While approving the consent agenda, the Council approved the appointment of Joan Davis to the Zoning Board of Appeals. They also approved the appointment of James Drost to the Library Board to fill the term of Ann McDonald. Ryne Ponsler was also appointed to the Library Board to fill the term of Jesse Decker. The following claims were also approved: General - $252,777.14 Sewer - $27,507.49 Water - $36,470.63 Total - $316,755.26 City Clerk Lauree Aulik reported City Hall will be closed December 23, 26 and 30 as well as January 2, 2023. Aulik said, depending on the weather, the City is considering closing Thursday due the expected snow storm. Aulik also said tax collection is around $1.5 million. The Council voted unanimously to approve 2022 vacation carryover requests for Ambulance Chief, Clerk/Treasurer and Public Works Director to be used by May 1, 2023. The Council also voted to approve a Certified Survey Map (CSM) for Wisconsin Power and Light located east of Dodgeville to include a road dedication to the City of Dodgeville. A second CSM was approved for Iowa County located east of Dodgeville. Greg Lee, Public Works Director, said Alliant Energy wanted to clean up the area. In doing so, Lee said, there's a hatched area on the map. The CSM would result in a true, street right-away. It was said the original survey dates back to the 1940s.
