National Championship first for Barneveld, WI

All things considered the National Championship the Barneveld SKILLS USA won earlier this month was tougher than any national championship won by a football, basketball, baseball or softball team.
Why?
Because there was no first class training facility, no cadre of coaches and no dedicated time for putting things together to compete. There was only a team of four students who were determined to work together and pull off a miracle that could be compared to the USA hockey team beating the Russians for the gold medal at the 1980 Olympics.
It was that unexpected.
But what happened became a miracle because the team and their coach/teacher Will Hodgson believed in each other. Now, team leader Nicole Elfering along with Quinn Dimpfl, Ty Gaffney and Billy Carden will go down in history as those who brought Barneveld and the State of Wisconsin their first ever SKILLSUSA National Championship....
