Mineral Point MS ranks #14 in Wisconsin

U.S. News & World Report ranked Mineral Point Middle School as #14 in Wisconsin middle schools. The publication's online magazine released results in October.
"Scoring was almost entirely rooted in students' performance on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments. Each state administers these assessments to determine whether learning in core subjects is achieved and to review how well schools are educating their students - including but not limited to children from low-income households and children from historically underserved ethnicities," U.S. News said.
MPMS significantly surpassed the state's average for students scoring proficient or above in mathematics and reading at the middle school level. In Wisconsin 562 middle schools were ranked. At MPMS 72% of students tested at or above proficient for math and 62% at or above proficient for reading. Statewide 44% of students tested at or above proficient for math and 41% at or above proficient for reading. MPMS placed #12 in the state for math proficiency and tied at #36 for reading proficiency, U.S. News reported. See data at https://www.usnews.com/ education/k12/wisconsin/mineral-point-middle-265987.
