Iowa-Grant board relaxes COVID in house policy
Questions about the competition policy presently used by the SWAL hopefully will be answered by next Tuesday when the Iowa-Grant school board will hold a special meeting.
The meeting was set initially to approve some contracts but members asked to also include a SWAL update on what is allowed with close contact when it comes to practices and competition.
Monday the board approved a motion that will allow close contact students who have been in school to remain for in house extra curriculars as long as they are masked. That is a change to the present policy. Discussion prior to the vote centered around present SWAL policy which is different from what the WIAA allows.
The motion read: "to allow close contacts who are masked to attend after school events with just our students - no other in-person schools or students/competitions (excluding sports practices)"...
