City of Dodgeville discusses phone system
By Kasi Greenwood
Updates were a key theme at Tuesday night's Dodgeville City Council meeting.
One of the updates discussed was the City of Dodgeville's phone systems. Public Works director Greg Lee informed council members that the City's phone system is at least 15 years.
Council members went over a couple quotes, and approved a price quote from Mount Horeb Telephone Company. The approval then allows a three year lease option paid on a monthly basis.
Council members approved moving forward with updates to city ordinances The first ordinance change was adding a consent agenda line item. This ordinance change would group routine items such as resolutions and operators licenses under one line item. Items under the consent agenda items would not need further discussion, unless a council member requests otherwise.
Council members also approved an ordinance change that allows Laurie Aurlik to approve operators licenses. Operators license applications must still pass a background check completed by the Dodgeville Police Department.
Council members approved new two year operators licenses for Travon Robinson and Kevin Beck, effective August 3 and concluding June 20, 2023.
Council members also approved a street use permit for a Vern Court Block Party that takes place September 5.
Council members then went into closed session to discuss city owned property and a developer's agreement.
The next regularly scheduled council meeting is on the calendar for Tuesday August 17 at 5:30 p.m. This meeting will be in person.
