Board approves staff salary increases
Dodgeville school's District Administrator Paul Weber told the school board Monday that the budget will include salary increases for both professional and support staff.
Support staff will receive a 3% salary increase along with a longevity bonus program.
Teaching staff will be converted to a single lane schedule and will receive a minimum 3% increase. Masters and National Board Certified staff will receive a 1.75% increase outside the salary schedule.
Also, the administrative contracts in most instances were tweaked to create uniformity.
The board approved two new teaching hires and some fitness center monitors.
Kimberly Reeson will teach eighth grade language arts while Amanda Leonard will teach seventh grade math.
Fitness center part time monitors will be Devon Blume, Ron Boone and Harry Hellen.
Fall coaching contracts were presented and approved. Board member David Blume asked how volunteer coaches are decided and was told by Athletic Director Joey Martin it is up to the head coach unless it seems excessive. He also noted volunteers undergo background checks and are given coaches handbooks.
The board also approved a resignation. Audrey Maarchesini resigned as a teaching assistant at Dodgeville Elementary and was thanked for her years of service.
Looking at possible shortages until funding from the state is received the board voted to authorize short term borrowing if needed.
Face coverings for the second term of summer school was discussed and the board approved making it optional.
The board will consider Fund 46 transfer at a special meeting at 5 p.m. July 26.
Under acknowledgements the board commended on the Dodgeville softball team for winning the Division 3 State Championship at Green Bay.
