Patience needed for COVID vaccine registration
By Kenyon Bennett
If you live or work in Iowa County but don't have a doctor and you are eligible for a vaccine as described in Tier 1A or are age 65+, you may contact the Iowa County Health Department with questions at email@example.com or call 608-930-9870.
Tier 1A included frontline health care workers, residents in long-term care facilities, law enforcement, EMS, corrections officers, and fire personnel, the health department said. These workers may still get the vaccine as supplies become available.
Upland Hills Health explained on its website how to register for COVID-19 vaccinations. Don't register until you fit the requirements for an eligible category. Upland Hills posts online which groups are eligible.
"If you are 65 or older, live or work in Iowa County, or are a patient at an Upland Hills Health Clinic or SSM Health Dean Medical Group in Dodgeville or Mineral Point, please add your name and contact information to the COVID-19 vaccination waiting list by clicking the link" at https://uplandhillshealth.org/patient-visitors/covid-19/, Upland Hills said. The link is the SignUpGenius icon and takes you to the next page. Follow the directions on the second page. For recognition purposes the SignUpGenius icon is included with this article. If you have difficulties or don't use a computer for registration, call 608-930-7224 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. "Please leave a message if your call isn't answered so that we can call you back and add you to the list," Upland Hills said. "Appointments will be subject to vaccine availability. As we receive vaccine supplies, we will contact those on this waiting list to schedule vaccination times. Please be patient. It may take several weeks to get through the waiting list. Once you add yourself to the waiting list, please do not continue to call to inquire. Thank you for your patience."
Remember, only register when your group is eligible.
