discuss downtown community sign at next meeting

At Tuesday night's Dodgeville City Council meeting, council member Tom DeVoss informed council members about the information sign located by the laundromat. The sign located there is approximately 15 years old and is due to be remodeled or replaced. Beth Mikrut-Gilles and the Chamber learned that the Chamber owns the sign. It was recommended that the sign be replaced as any repairs would be considered temporary fixes. The last sign was purchased between the Dodgeville Lion's Club and the Kiwanis Club of Dodgeville. With the Chamber having to cancel many events last year due to the pandemic, the Chamber has requested that the City assist in paying for a new sign, which costs approximately $20,000.
