Multiple agencies were called to a multi-vehicle accident on US Highway 14 between Spring Green and Arena Thursday that resulted in injuries and road blockage.
Answering the call were the Iowa County Sheriff's Department, Arena Fire Department, Spring Green Fire Department, Arena Police Department, Arena EMS, Spring Green EMS and Mazomanie EMS. Several towing services also responded, namely George's Towing, Wegner' Towing and Gauger's Towing.
The crash was reported about 6:30 a.m. when the ICSD dispatch was notified there were five vehicles involved in the crash with road blockage and possible entrapment.
According to the accident report a white Chevrolet 2500 driven by Aaron Miller, 32, Black Earth, was westbound on Hwy 14 when his vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped an eastbound red Chevrolet Impala driven by Lori Dederich, 59, Lone Rock. The Dederich vehicle then collided head-on with a blue Ford 150 driven by Darrell Mead, 27, Lone Rock, which was also eastbound.
Also, debris from the crash damaged a brown GMC Acadia driven by Alyssa Gaffney, 37, Richland Center.
Miller and Mead were extricated by Fire/EMS and, along with Dederich, were transported to UW Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
