Gallagher family are new owners of Midway Lanes Bowling Alley
For quite some time, many community members have wondered what the outcome would be for Midway Lanes Bowling Alley Sports Bar and Grill, located in the Town of Mineral Point.
There is now an answer to that question as Kevin and London Gallagher have now taken ownership of the beloved bowling Alley.
The Gallaghers became the official owners this past summer, after purchasing the bowling alley from Chris Statter. Prior to Statter, the bowling alley was owned by Greg and Cindy Roalfs.
Kevin and London have been married for 25 years. Before coming to Mineral Point, the Gallaghers lived in Torrance, CA for the last 20 years. They have a 20 year old daughter named Lacey who is a student at UC Merced in Central California.
Bowling has been a major part of Kevin and London's lives.
"We met in junior bowling when I was 15 and she was 14 at an adult junior no tap bowling tournament," Kevin said. "We've been basically together for everything."
One of their lifetime goals was to own their own business. They have 30 years of experience working at Laemle Theaters, based out of Los Angeles. London still works for them full-time since the Gallaghers made the move to Mineral Point.
The COVID-19 pandemic took a major hit on movie theaters. Although the Gallaghers still work with the movie theater, they had the opportunity to think about the next chapter of their lives.
Kevin is a competitive bowler, and has bowled during weekend tournaments and through the PBA regional tour.
"We knew owning a bowling alley would be one of the types of businesses that we could do very well at, because of our unique skill set and the leagues we were in throughout the years," Kevin said.....
