Mike Peterson becomes new Iowa County Jail Administrator
|Since 2004, many have known Mike Peterson as a deputy for the Iowa County Sheriff's Department, not to mention being the Director of Court Security for the Iowa County Courthouse. |
As of last week, Peterson has changed his uniform, by becoming the Jail Administrator.
Peterson fills this position, succeeding Pam Steffes who retired in October.
In his role as Jail Administrator, Peterson will be responsible for managing and directing operations of the jail, as well as ensuring that inmate care and custodial needs are met for the facility.
"It's an exciting time, especially with being in the middle of building a new law enforcement center, along with all the challenges and a great staff," Peterson said. "This is a great opportunity and a great challenge dictates the future of our agency."
At this time his goal is learning the new position....
