Remembering Ron Murphy

Not many people would look forward to working on a Sunday night like I did in the late 1990s.
The reason was because I knew I would have my audience with Mineral Point football coach Ron Murphy. It was something I was able to do for many of his years coaching since his start in the 1960s.
It was always like visiting an old friend which, of course, it actually was.
Those interviews were special. We would talk about the game just played, the kids and how they stepped up each week, the next opponent and then finished talking about a huge dose of life. Talking about life was the best part.
The only one who got to spend more time with the coach on Sunday night was his wife, Linda....
