Dodgeville School Board sets tax levy at special meeting
The Dodgeville School Board approved a resolution setting the 2020-21 tax levy at a special meeting Tuesday.
The levy is about $20,000 more than approved at the annual meeting because of adjustments from state aid, according to District Administrator Paul Weber. The amount approved was $5,953,114 which will be levied against property in the school district. The amount allows for a balanced budget and is what is needed to operate the school district for this term.
The amount includes $1,833,616 for referendum debt servicing and $133,848 for the emergency service fund.
In other business the board voted to accept a line of credit from Farmers Savings Bank of $1,000,000 that will be drawn from if short term borrowing is needed before the revenue stream picks up in December. The interest rate is set at 1.25%.
