Driver, passenger and dog escape injury in semi crash

A semi tractor trailer driver lost control of his vehicle Friday and blocked traffic for three hours after rolling onto its side.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Department was notified of the accident at 2:30 Friday which took place a tenth of a mile east of Pikes Peak Road in the Town of Brigham. When Sheriff's Department personnel arrived at the scene they found the semi on its side in the median with two people and their dog trapped inside.
Ridgeway Fire and Barneveld Fire and EMS arrived and removed the vehicle's windshield, allowing the people and the dog to emerge uninjured.
The report on file at the Sheriff's Department notes that the vehicle was westbound when the driver lost control. While the tractor was on its side the trailer remained upright and connected.
The crash blocked two lanes of the west corridor and one lane of the east side of the highway was blocked by emergency personnel.
Disch Auto was able to remove the semi three hours later.
Responding to the call were the Iowa County Sheriff's Department, Ridgeway Fire, Barneveld Fire and EMS, Ridgeway Marshall, Disch Auto and the Iowa County Highway Department.
