Jacobson recognized by Novak, Evers
Rep. Todd Novak (Dodgeville) presented a citation to Jeff Jacobson honoring his six years of service as Superintendent of Dodgeville Schools and 38 years of service in education. The citation is also signed by Governor Tony Evers and is accompanied by a United States flag flown over the State Capitol in his honor.
"Jeff brought a lifetime of experience to Dodgeville schools and has been an invaluable resource on matters involving education during my time as an Assemblyman" said Novak. "I wish Jeff the best in his retirement and thank him for his years of service to our community."
The citation presented by Rep. Novak recognizes Jeff's commitment to excellence both in Wisconsin and across the globe. Prior to his position in Dodgeville, Jeff served as the Principal of Plymouth Comprehensive High School and Crandon High School. During the summer of 1998, Jeff traveled to Tanzania to volunteer his time to lead seminars on best practices in teaching strategies.
In addition to his years spent as a teacher and administrator, Jeff worked to research, develop, and improve education in a variety of roles. He served as a Research Assistant in the National Center on Effective Secondary Schools and as a Program Assistant under Dr. Richard Rossmiller, Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Education Administration at UW-Madison. His efforts also led to a new Education Administration certification program at UW-Platteville.
Finally, Jeff prioritized community involvement and recognized its importance in the development of our young people. Throughout his career, he has been involved with organizations including the Platteville Community Recreation Department, Badger State Games, and the WIAA.

WHEREAS, we recognize Jeff Jacobson's service to his community and commitment to excellence in education in Wisconsin and across the globe; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, Jeff began his role as District Administrator of Dodgeville School District where he has served for more than 6 years; and
WHEREAS, prior to his position with Dodgeville schools, Jeff exemplified leadership in education as Principal of Platteville High School, Plymouth Comprehensive High School, and Crandon High School; and
WHEREAS, Jeff has contributed to the betterment of education through his role as a Research Assistant in the National Center on Effective Secondary Schools and service on the steering committee for a new administration certification program at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville; and
WHEREAS, his involvement with organizations that include the Platteville Community Recreation Department, Badger State Games, Sheboygan County Children's Museum, and the WIAA showcase his passion for mentoring youth; and
WHEREAS, Jeff is married to his wife Kathy who are both proud parents of their children Kirsten, Spencer, and Jens; and
THEREFORE, Representative Todd Novak and Governor Tony Evers celebrate the career and selfless service of Jeff Jacobson.
