Massey, Wicker to perform at Dodgeville holiday event
Iowa County area residents are invited to kick off the holiday season in style this year by attending the Dodgeville Kiwanis Holiday Social on December 2 at the Dodger Bowl located at 318 King St., Dodgeville.
Well-known regional entertainers Mike Massey and Emily (Johnson) Wicker will be the guest musicians at the event. The festivities will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the musical entertainment at 7 p.m. Both events are open to the public.
Dinner tickets will be sold in advance only on a first-come, first-served basis between now and Nov. 27. Tickets are also available for the music only.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected for the Iowa County Food Pantry.
Massey, who lives in Madison, is a pianist, singer-songwriter and producer who has written or collaborated on more than 300 rock, pop, country and instrumental songs during his long career in music. He also wrote the score for the full length "Dracula, A Rock Ballet," and has four critically acclaimed albums. He recently received a Madison Area Music Award as "Pianist of the Year."
Wicker is a graduate of Barneveld High School, and sang with the One Ounce Opera Co. in Austin, Texas, before moving back to Wisconsin. She and her husband, Ted, now live in Potosi, where she teaches vocal music.
Massey and Wicker have performed together for several years at the "Spectacular, Spectacular" Christmas production in Barneveld, and sang together in 2018 at the Kiwanis social. They will perform holiday selections as well as a variety of other music.
