Mineral Point woman cited twice for OWI in two days
A 35 year old Mineral Point woman was cited for OWI twice in less than 24 hours according to the Iowa County Sheriff's Department.
Amanda Varney was reported for driving erratically while traveling west on USH 18/151 on Thursday, October 31. She was stopped at 11:23 p.m. by YZ near Dodgeville and arrested for impaired driving.
Then at 11:16 p.m. Friday, an Iowa County deputy stopped Varney for erratic driving while traveling on U.S. Highway 18/151 between Ridgeway and Dodgeville and was again arrested for operating while impaired.
Varney was previously cited for OWI on December 20, 2018 and that case is set for a scheduling conference November 14 at 8:45 a.m.
On July 8, 2019 she was cited for operating with a restricted controlled substance, first offense. The court will also consider this at the November 14 conference.
On August 8, 2019 she was cited for a restraining order violation. This case is set to be heard November 26 at 11 a.m.
Her OWI and deviation from the designated lane charges will be before the court March, 2020 at 9 a.m.
