Eagles get hot to end Highland’s run

Cashton’s boys basketball team struck early and often as they ended Highland’ post season run 82-54 Friday in the WIAA D5 Regional semi-finals.

It was a good night for the Hemmersbachs as Noah shared top scoring honors with teammate Conner Butzler with 22 points while Brett Hemmersbach added 21 and Brady Hemmersbach finished with eight. The Hemmersbachs contributed 51 points to the attack.

Highland tired to answer with a pair of 16 point performances from Michael Esser and Wes Kraisinger.

The Eagles raced to a 43-28 halftime lead and finished it with a 39-26 scoring difference the second half.

The Cardinals ended their season 14-11. They were 7-5 in the Six Rivers West.

The Cardinals lose one senior in Thomas Hermanson.
