Nancy Ann Reynolds, 88, Mineral Point, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.

Mom left us unexpectedly and much too soon due to complications from encephalopathy.

Despite having been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease several years ago she was enjoying an active, vibrant life. Nothing could stop her once she made up her mind to do something- until this. For this reason eighty eight years just doesn't seem enough.

Nancy was born on April 17, 1935, in rural Jonesdale to Bree and Catherine (Jackson) Fitzsimmons.

She graduated from Hollandale High School in 1953.

On October 24, 1953 she married Merton Lloyd Reynolds. They farmed together on Highway 39 near Hollandale their entire married lives.

Mom and Dad shared a love story for the ages which was a wonderful example for all of us.

Mom was a devoted Christian whose faith was very important to her. She was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was very involved in the life of the church.

She was talented musically and passed on this love to her family. She had a beautiful singing voice and had served as church pianist for a number of years in the past. She still enjoyed playing her keyboard and learning new music.

Nancy was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She sewed most of our clothes growing up and tackled any project, including making wedding dresses. Each child, grandchild, and great grandchild has one of her beautiful quilts that she made for them.

Mom enjoyed being outside and loved gardening, a hobby which brought her a lot of joy.

Another of the many ways Nancy showed her love was her cooking and baking. People didn't miss many meals if Grandma Nancy was cooking. We'll miss the caramel rolls, the saffron bread, the pasties...and the Prairie Fumé at happy hour.

After Merton passed away in 2022 Mom moved to an apartment in Mineral Point, where she embarked on the next chapter in her life, one she embraced enthusiastically. She was frequently on the go with outings and lunches with friends, and had enjoying re-connecting with many of her acquaintances from over the years. She loved spending time with family and was so happy meeting each new great grandchild.

In August she got to participate in the auction at the farm she and Dad had worked for sixty five plus years. It was a bittersweet but joy-filled day of visiting with neighbors, friends, and relatives.

In addition to Merton, her parents, and Merton's parents, John and Pearl (Frank) Reynolds, Nancy was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Jim, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Janet May, and sisters-in-law Esther Reynolds and Eleanor Reynolds, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Surviving immediate family include her children:

Debbie (Michael) Murphy, Seattle; Jeff (Chris) Reynolds, Mineral Point; Becki Reynolds, Neenah; and Lisa Reynolds, Lakewood, Co.

Her grandchildren: Ben (Ellen) Murphy, Brendan Murphy, John (Anna Kostial)Murphy; Ross (Danielle) Reynolds, Bree Ann (Tanner) Terrill; Sean (Brianne) Cunningham, Katie Cunningham; Nate (MacKenzie) Kaufman, and Brodie Kaufman.

Her great grandchildren: Max and Maverick Murphy; Charlie, Layne, Henry, and Jack Reynolds; Bryce, Eva, and Graham Terrill; Cassius and Calvin Hughes; Melody Cunningham; and Olivia Kaufman.

Nancy leaves us broken-hearted at the thought of not seeing her smile and hearing her laugh. But we're so much better for having had her in our lives, and we're so grateful to have known her.

The family offers sincere thanks to the caring staff members at Upland Hills Health and St. Mary's Hospital.

A memorial celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, November 18th at First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am with the service at 11:00 am and lunch to follow.

The Reverends Gary Cole and Barbara Cook will officiate.

Memorials made will be directed to Bethel Methodist Church, Upland Hills Health, and the Mineral Point Rescue Squad .
