Turbine land not recommended

Dear Editor,
Why does our state government continue to allow private energy development companies destroy our environment? Invenergy and Pattern Energy have projects slated for Iowa County. These projects consist of over 40,000 acres of land easements and will potentially have over 150 wind turbines. These turbines will likely measure almost 700' to the top wing tip.
We do not need these in the driftless area. Land excavated for turbine foundations could lead to contaminated water and other environmental issues. The state has drafted Guidance for Minimizing Impacts to Natural Resources from Terrestrial Commercial Wind Energy Development Wisconsin DNR. This document is available online at https://widnr.widen.net/s/frvnmsvp5p/windguidelines. I invite you to read it yourself. Of special note is the map found on page 61 which states the areas not recommended for wind project development in Wisconson. THE VAST MAJORITY OF LAND IN IOWA COUNTY IS SHADED AS NOT RECOMMENDED.
Why is Iowa County being targeted when the state says it's not recommended. Please do your part to keep our area safe from industrial wind turbines. Write to your legislator. Call your local supervisor. Please visit TheLongViewAllianceWI.org for more information. Speak up before it's too late.
