Sixty years of Kiwanis for Gary Schill

When Gary Schill joined the Kiwanis Club of Dodgeville in 1962, the club met in the old Higbee Hotel in downtown Dodgeville. He was 24 years old and just getting his start in the pharmacy business.
"I remember the Higbee with a big dining room and a big kitchen," Schill said. "I joined during our 35th anniversary as a club. We invited the Mineral Point Kiwanis over for a joint meeting to celebrate the anniversary."
Schill, now 85, has lots of good memories of his 60 years as a member of the Kiwanis club. He was honored for his many years of service with a "Legion of Honor" award during the club's holiday social in December. He retired from active membership in the organization at the end of the club's past fiscal year on Sept. 30, 2022....
