A lot of great effort

I don’t usually turn the writing of a major story over to someone  and accept the product without doing quite a bit of editing.

But I am doing it this week and I really appreciate the efforts of Kristen May, a major player in the Iowa County Fair.

I spoke with her the other day fully prepared to set up an interview when she offered to collect her thoughts and send them to me.  I gave her a couple days and then received a complete rundown of what is happening at the Fair this year.  I read it, fully prepared to go into editor mode then decided that while I could improve on the journalism I could not improve on the passion.

So when you read her story you will no doubt see the same things I did.  She really knows her stuff when it comes to making you want to attend the event.

This may be the best fair  ever and I have seen plenty of them, over 60 I would say. There are a lot of things to see and do.  The entertainment is high quality and varied.  Every detail, from the fun on the midway and in the stands to honoring the hard work of the exhibitors has been well  thought out and having its important spot in the fair.

So read about the fair then do one better. Go to it and have fun. You will enjoy  it and Kristen’s hard work and planning deserves your support.
