Along The Ad Routes

Saturday morning breakfast took Bob, Terry, Dewey, Dave and myself to Muscoda, to Vicki's Cozy Cafe. We were waited on by Vicki's daughter Tiffani. She told us she had been working there for 15 years, since she was 14. We probably have been there a half dozen times since we began our Saturday morning trips, but this is the first time any of us have seen her. She may've been in the kitchen the other times. Three of us had a conglomeration of blueberry pancakes, apples, whipped cream and whatever else went into the concoction! It was very rich and filling - and also very good! In our usual humor, we made several comments to Tiffani. She gave it right back to us!

On our way back to Dodgeville we made a trip out to the went to check out the new Hallada subdivision that is going up. We also made a pass through Prairie Hills, which is right behind the middle school, to see any new construction going on there.

Cathryn's Market, located in the former Corner Drug Store building right next to the Dodgeville Chronicle was the site of a "Soft Opening" Tuesday. The owners, Cliff and Cathryn (Katie) Gonyer have been doing that project for about 2 1/2 years. It's good to have it open! There will be more on that place down the road.

It's this Sunday! The Dodgeville Lions Club had a very successful "FREE" Community Breakfast last year and donated a good amount of money to the Dodger Food Locker, a much needed food chain supplier for students. They are going to hold the 2022 "FREE" Community Breakfast on Sunday, February 20 at the Dodger Bowl, on the west edge of Dodgeville. It will be a dine-in or carry-out type of breakfast. It will run from 8 a.m. to noon. There will also be Vision Screening for preschool youngsters 8 months and up. For everyone's safety, facemasks are required for entry. There will also be booths by the Dodger Food Locker and Iowa County Cancer Coalition.

I stopped at my "Not So" Quality Bakery in downtown Dodgeville the other day. Aimie was working and she told me that the front door had opened three times and nobody was there. She said it had to be the ghost of Mike (Crubaugh) just passing through to tortcure her! Anyone who remembers Mike, you know what I mean!

This week (and Wednesday was the day) is "Random Acts of Kindess Week". I think that should be every week!
