A week ago last Wednesday I took cousin Jeanette (Atlanta) and husband Jack to Bob's Bitchin' BBQ. We walked in and right in front of us was a table of familiar faces mainly from the DHS class of 1965. There sat Dick Stephens, Kramer "Butch" Rock, Bill Rock, Bob Rundle, Joe Meudt, Ken Johanning and Roger Perkins. They had a 1965 fill-in as one guy had to back out at the last minute. The '65 fill-in was Dave Anderson, a Mount Horeb graduate. Denny Rundle, a DHS grad too, was at Bob's talking with them when we walked in. The oddity about it all is that last year I walked into Bob's on the same date and there were those same guys!

Saturday morning breakfast took Bob, Terry, Dewey and I to the Pointer Cafe in Mineral Point. We were unexpectedly joined by Dave Stone, who had been on vacation and wasn't expected back for another week. He said it was too hot out west for him and he had done everything he wanted to do. I think he just missed having breakfast with us! Anyway, the breakfast is always good there. Terri was our waitress. She was all alone for a hour or so when we got there. She is very efficient!

Cousin Jeanette wanted to have breakfast at the Red Room before she and husband Jack headed back to Atlanta so that's where we were Thursday morning. Cousins Jean, Jeff and Deb joined us as did brother Pat. Jeanette and Jack headed back to Atlanta on Monday. They enjoyed their time in Wisconsin where Jeanette spent a lot of summer vacations when in school in Florida.

My nephew (Pat's oldest son) Darren brought a 13U baseball team to Dodgeville last weekend for a tournament. He is one of the coaches too. I got to watch his son Gavin play against the Dodgeville team on Saturday night. Pat took in parts of all the games they played. I also got to see Darren's wife Michele and other son Liam. The team and coaches had a pizza party Friday night at the Red Room to kick the weekend off.
