Along The Ad Routes

I guess it's out - I hit the 3/4 century mark last Monday. Now I guess the next big one will be the full century mark! I want to thank everyone for the cards, text messages and social media posts remembering me. That means a lot! I had lunch with Bob and Dewey at Cook's Room. Bob paid and Dewey (actually via Jane) bought me pie for dessert!

Actually I received a "first" in about 50 years. Niece Shelly got me a birthday cake from my favorite -"Not So" Quality Bakery and it actually was one I could've shown my grandma (if you know what I mean!). That dates back to my late buddy Mikey!

Oh, and I did get a famous "Kathryn McGraw" apple pie - thanks Lori! Sooooo Good!

A week ago Tuesday was "Giving Tuesday" We ran some photos of Dodgeville Dental giving FREE services last week. Dr. Kym let us know that they completed a total of $24,155 in free services for their 4th annual free day. "It was a great and busy day," she said. To give them a little more of a "thank you" from all who participated, see the above photo.

That's a great thing they do every year!

Saturday I was on the road some so I thought I'd find a radio station that was playing Christmas songs. Little did I know that almost none of the area stations are carrying the traditional Christmas Carols. I had to search every one that came into my car radio and only found two or three that were playing anything related to Christmas - Bah, Humbug!

Also on Saturday the Little Givers Magic Market in Dodgeville at the Red Room was really busy. There were kids all over waiting to see Santa and taking their turn to be taken downstairs by the Elves to buy presents for their loved ones and friends. The Vendor Sale upstairs also was a hit. I even bought some homemade cupcakes - yummy!

Santa was really busy Saturday as he made appearances in Dodgeville, Highland, Mineral Point and Spring Green. He made a lot of youngsters very happy seeing him!

The next stop for Santa in the area as far as I know is this coming Saturday at the Pecatonica Elementary School in Hollandale where he will be there overseeing Santa's Secret Shop for the youngsters. The annual Holiday Bazaar is there too!

We received a little rain that tuned into ice on Sunday. There wasn't much and it didn't last long. But I did have to use my ice scraper for the first time! There was snow expected during the week - but not too much. We do need the moisture and have some snow cover this winter though!

There's just over two weeks until Christmas!
